Among my strongest childhood memories are Friday night dinners with my family and grandmother, especially accompanying my dad in taking her home at the end of the evening when she would present – and request feedback on -her latest painting. To this day, I recall the smell of turpentine and oils, and the passion and pride she embodied as we admired each week’s beautiful painting. Each time I paint I remember her joy and feel our connection. Throughout my life, I have paid particular attention to, and valued, the simple everyday aspects of the people, sights and sounds around us. This provides the inspiration while exploring shapes, color, values, edges and space.
Inspiration comes from the simple everyday aspects of life, and the special people and teachers we are lucky having in our lives. Carol’s career includes Graphic Design, Art Director & Executive Design Director positions at Dell, Random House, Pearson/Prentice Hall and Disney Publishing Worldwide; and has been an active member of the Art Students’ League in NYC, Salute to Women in the Arts / Blue Dove, Ridgewood Art Center, & The Art School at Old Church. Carol is grateful to extraordinary teachers including Jerry Weiss, Dean Fisher, Dan Gheno, Max Ginsburg, Claudia Rilling, Anton Nowels, Ingrid Christensen, Bernie Dellario and Rick Perez. Recent exhibits or selected by juried shows include: Art Students’ League (NYC), JAG Small Works Exhibit (Key West, FLA), Riverside Gallery (NJ), IO Gallery (NY), Michail Zakin Gallery (NJ), (alternate) Edward Hopper House (NY)
