Linda Zitelli
I practice the art of intuitive painting, delving into my personal experiences, memories
and dreams and placing my subjects into surreal settings. Viewers are invited to rest in
the mystery and beauty of new worlds and to add their own imagination to mine. My
subjects are depicted with reverence, tenderness, and wonder. The color, light and
energy that informs us all play across each canvas, reflecting both our humanity and our
spirituality.
I studied photography at the School of Visual Arts in New York City and painted at the
Art School at Old Church in NJ. My work has been shown at the Riverside Gallery,
Hackensack, NJ, and at the Belskie Museum, Closter, NJ as well as at libraries and
community centers. I recently won first place in the acrylic category at the regional
exhibit at the Art Center of Northern New Jersey.
Professional Associations: Board member of Salute to Women in the Arts, an
organization of more than 50 local women artists and sculptors. Founder of Blue Dove,
a collective of women artists dedicated to supporting each other’s artistic growth and
contributing beauty, art, and connection to their communities.
