Art for me is an emotional experience both as a creator and a spectator and by creating art I try to capture and convey the subject spirit as my own.
Every painting is a learning experience and a challenge to study the media, to hone the skills, and to be truthful to the subject matter and to myself, a journey inside and out.
For over 40 years, I have been exercising different media and subject matter but focus mostly on oil and watercolor. In choosing each subject and technique, I consider the purpose of the work and what I want to convey. The goal of each project is to capture the subject’s energy, atmosphere, and emotion through color, shape, movement, and light. Whether a scenic view or that of a figure, every piece is dedicated to the subject’s qualities and mood - trying to create an experience that perfectly portrays that brief, special moment.
I graduated from the Technion Israeli Institute of Technology with a degree in physics. Even as a software developer, art and creativity were always a part of my life. I continued to pursue this passion by taking painting and drawing classes at the Anvi Art Institute in Tel-Aviv and Oranim College in Kiriat-Tivon in Israel. I furthered my education in these mixed medias here in the States by taking several drawing courses at the Art School in the Old Church in Demarest, New Jersey. Additionally, I attended Berkley College, New Jersey, and obtained my degree in Interior Design. Most recently, I have joined organizations like “Salute to Women in the Arts” and “Blue Dove.”
These experiences as an interior designer, software developer, and artist have fostered a sense of vision and attention to detail that reminds me to create with a sense of the whole composition.
